Aquila is the RF communication module based on the specification of CISCO Grid-Connected technology. Aquila is based on the IEEE 802.15.4G standard, mesh topology and 6LoWPAN, operating in the 915 MHz base band.
Ideal for M2M (machine-to-machine) communications, Aquila uses UDP/IPv6 protocol at the transport layer. It can be easily integrated into the equipment and electricity, gas and water meters, allowing immediate access to CISCO Connected-Grid technology. When running M2M firmware, Aquila became a versatile and powerful MRD (Metering Reading Device), compatible with all meters of Brazilian market that use ABNT, Sibma, PIMA and DLMS protocols.
It also provides access to the M2M MDC (Metering Data Collector) SADE platform. With this platform, all meter data are automatically integrated with several market MDMs using advanced Web Service integration software.
In addition to all IEEE 802.15.4G standard security available, Aquila allows the download of the X.509 certificate, providing more network security. Running on a powerful ARM, Aquila provides high performance and low power consumption. It also has FOTA (Firmware-Over-The-Air), CSMP management protocol and the possibility to use up to 1W output power.
